BCRT activities on rain water harvesting and birds habitat protection

Beginnings of water-harvesting efforts in Anuganalu: school children and women work planting trees around the bunds, which were constructed to harvest rainwater.

A Farm-pond constructed jointly by BCRT and Jalanayana for harvesting rain water at BCRT.

A farm pond after rains: This structure, located at the foot of the land afforested by BCRT, is where the rainwater collects and gets infiltrated into the ground. As a result, farmers around this area have reported an increase in the water levels in their borewells.

People from Anuganalu and neighboring villages work with Jalayanayana (watershed department) to de-silt a mile-long lake. This region is known to harbour many local birds. The fertile soil was later used by farmers to enrich their fields.
